Project

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is located in Chantilly, VA on 12,000 acres of land. The Main Terminal opened in 1962. Dulles is a major hub for domestic and international air travel with eleven domestic legacy and low fare carriers and 22 international carriers which provide air service throughout the world. Flights operate from midfield concourses A, B, C and D and Z-gates connected to the Main Terminal.

Scope of Services

- Capital Development Program, Cost Management Our team worked in conjunction with PMC personnel to provide budget    estimates on the approximately 200 projects that make up the Stage 1 Capital Development Program, including include    Automated Airport Train System, Airport Traffic Control Tower, New Runway, Passenger Walkway, Parking Garages, Main    Terminal Improvements, Concourse B Expansion, Runway 12-30 Reconstruction, Permanent Z-Gates and Roadway    Improvements. Since 1988, we have been providing on-site (resident) estimating support to handle A/E submittal estimate    reviews, definitive check estimates, estimate reconciliations, A/E professional services estimates, change order estimates,    change order evaluations, contractor change order negotiation support, liquidated damage assessments, bid reviews, contract    status report updating, claims management support, and other project control functions.

- Claims Construction Analysis. We are responsible for the oversight of the APM Systems Contractor's construction activities for   any potential impacts/delays in order to mitigate effects, by early recognition, on the overall project schedule and cost.   Analysis of issues for merit and entitlement is provided. For all projects, we review technical and construction issues for possible   impacts associated with delays, disruptions, inefficiencies, acceleration or other factors and establish merit and entitlement   along with coordinating with the PMC Design Engineering Group as necessary. Analysis and evaluation of claim or disputed   issues is performed and the findings of fact and recommendations are provided to the project's Site Manager, Assistant Site   Managers or Resident Engineer, as appropriate. Issues with merit are forwarded by the Resident Engineer. Sample tasks:

- Building Modifications to Accommodate In-Line Baggage This project includes a 60k SF structural addition in front of the Terminal   B/C to house baggage handling equipment for in line check in. The structure is a single story building. The baggage system   includes three pods to provide each ticket counter conveyor line and curbside conveyor line pair with dedicated EDS device. 

- Main Terminal Baggage Basement Security Alterations (West, East and South) The West Basement consists of a complete design   integration of in-line EDS/ETD screening equipment with baggage system. West basement project supports airport operations   activities generated at Kiosk 1 (80k SF). The South bag basement requires construction of interior building enclosures, an EDS   mezzanine platform and modifications to the existing areas to house the TSA baggage screening operations (100k SF).
