Project

Santa Barbara Airport - Six airlines serve the Airport as of July 2009 with nearly 40 daily departures to nine U.S. cities (see below). In 2005, an estimated 900,000 passengers used the airport. It is also a popular training airport. The field is home to three flight schools, Above All Aviation, flight school and FAA approved Aerial Scenic Tour Facility, Red Baron Aviation, an FAA certified test center and Cessna Pilot Center, as well as Spitfire Aviation.

Scope of Services

Terminal Development Program The City of Santa Barbara will modified and expanded its existing terminal facilities. The program involved construction of temporary terminal facilities, re-siting of the existing historic terminal and development of new terminal facilities with associated modifications to airside paving and landside parking and roadways. In order to provide additional reassurance that the program was developed within budget parameters, URS hired us to review existing estimates, assist in format and content of new baseline and progress estimates, compare progress estimates and resolve any discrepancies that may arise. A temporary facility was needed to takeover functions of the existing terminal. The full concept was developed in order to obtain land-use permits and also as a budget check. Thereafter only phase 1 will be fully developed and bid for construction. The role of our company wasto provide a baseline estimate for the concept and thereafter make sure that the developing design stayed within budget.
