Pensacola Regional Airport is one of the ten busiest in the nation and among the top 20 busiest in the world with a $90 Million daily economic impact. On a typical day the airport sees more than 1,200 aircraft arrive and depart; more than 100,000 passengers arrive and depart, and more than 600 tons of air cargo is handled.

Scope of Services

- Airport Development Program – Terminal / EDS Facility Conceptual and schematic estimates. The components that were included in the estimate were:

- Airline Ticket Office Expansion Expands the area and offices to the south and includes not only airline offices on the first floor but also airport administration offices on the second floor. 9,000 SF.

- Explosive Detection System Facility Extends the existing location by 10,200 SF. The EDS portion of the building will be enclosed and house four EDS machines, a hand search area for bags not passing level one inspection and an in-line baggage system. Includes demolition and replacement of existing pavement to achieve the proper slope for drainage and replacement of existing baggage belts. Also provides for new facilities for the police department.

- Baggage Claim and In-Line Baggage Screening Demolition of the south end of the building to add 12,250 SF for a new baggage claim device. Includes relocation of elevator equipment, stairs, loading dock, offices, and a parking area. In-line baggage screening addition is 10,500 SF.

- Passenger Screening Expansion Demolition of upper portions of one elevator shaft and equipment to provide additional floor space for the passenger screening area. 6,000 SF.

- Concourse Extension Extension of existing concourse and adding three additional gates of 28,500 SF. Also includes concourse concession expansion of 3,000 SF.

- Passenger Loading Bridges Provides thirteen (13) new PLBs.

- Ramp Development Provides additional aircraft overnight parking of 10,000 SY. Project is adjacent to the existing helicopter area and will include earthwork and drainage as well as new pavement and markings.

- Also, the parking garage capacity was doubled and a new rental car facility (fueling, wash racks, and maintenance) including demolition of the existing facilities and paving of the existing area for long term parking.
